Hey there,
I reached my computational power limit. After one month of working every single day with no weekends, I got to a point where I felt like dropping it all and going back to the basics. I was drawn towards washing dishes, cleaning the house, experimenting with new recipes or watching reality shows. 😅
I said I’ll use this weekly newsletter to share with you details about my journey, and it didn’t feel right to write as nothing happened.
Anyhow, since I was on a break from finding thought-provoking content in podcasts, courses or books, I had to entertain myself with my ideas and unanswered questions.
Here are some snippets from a mind which wandered more freely:

🏙️ Disconnecting: How do you balance your day to day activities and leave time for your mind to wander and detach?
This is not a rhetoric question. When I work too much, I almost get an allergic reaction to screens and naturally gravitate towards elementary activities like house chores, cooking or meeting with friends. For me, the problem is that offline social activity has decreased substantially over the last two years. In the past, no matter what I had to do, there were many more social gatherings that required my presence, which automatically paused my working hours. Now, I often forget to draw the line between working, learning, and everything else, mainly because there are fewer and fewer events to attend. How do you tackle this?
🧘♀ ️ A New Challenge
Last weekend, I decided to push a little further on my daily meditation practice and go for a full hour each morning. I’m not new to meditation; I can’t say I’m an expert either. I’ve been practising it for two years now, and it became a daily habit around 6-7 months ago. I usually kept it between 15-30 minutes, but those more experienced than me say the magic happens after the first 30-45 minutes. How do I do it? First thing in the morning, after brushing my teeth, I stretch a little, then sit on the floor with my back straight, usually in a half-lotus position, close my eyes and observe my inner state. I never had any transformative experience during my meditation sessions, but I see benefits in how I carry myself during the day. I’ll keep you posted on this one; I intend to write an entire article on how it feels like to go for a full hour after 1 or 2 months.

📺 Documentary: The Colours of Infinity on Netflix
If you didn’t know this about me, let me fill in the gaps: I’m fascinated by fractals. A fractal is an infinitely repeating pattern, and each of its parts resembles the whole. They are frequently found in nature and reveal a never-ending amount of details as you zoom in. Think of snowflakes, trees or seashores. The Colours of Infinity is my favourite documentary of all time. I find it very soothing to watch, even if it’s like 20 years old and has weird cuts and visual effects. The documentary follows the story of Benoit Mandelbrot, the discoverer of the Mandelbrot Set, which revolutionised fractal geometry. What is fascinating for me is that even if the discussion revolves around mathematics and geometry, it also explains how nature creates and can even be seen as a metaphor for how destiny and free will operate in the same realm.
🖥️ Series: Soy Georgina on Netflix
I told you I was into reality TV this week. I binged on Soy Georgina and found it quite entertaining. No drama, no flexing, just a wealthy regular family and a fortunate, young and beautiful woman living her best life and sharing her blessings with those around her.
